Diaper rash questions come up at almost every newborn visit and continue into the toddler years, so let's talk about it: First, take a breath. Diaper rash is SO common and most of the time it doesn't mean anything is wrong. It usually comes down to moisture, friction, a diaper that doesn't fit quite right, or a sensitivity to added lotions or fragrance. Here's what I look for in any diaper: 1️⃣ Dermatologist tested 2️⃣ No lotions, latex or fragrance (flip the pack over and check!) 3️⃣ A snug fit at the waist and legs without leaving red marks If a rash shows up anyway, change a little more often and give that little bottom some diaper free time. If it's not getting better after a few days, you see blisters, or there's a fever, call your pediatric provider. The diaper I trust as an NP and used with my second is @Millie Moon Luxury Diapers It's dermatologist tested by Dermatest, has 0% lotions, latex and fragrance, is OEKO-TEX certified, vegan and cruelty free, and is designed to help reduce rashes. You can grab it at Target 🎯 Save this for those foggy newborn weeks and send it to a mom friend who's in the thick of it 💛 #ad #diaper #diaperrash #pediatricnursepractitioner
